Beximco Power is likely to install a 200 MW solar power plant in Gaibandha as a joint venture. They have also promised to build such power plants in the future as well. Two deals were signed at the Bidyut Bhaban on today regarding the installation of the solar power plant. The power generated from the solar power plant will be delivered to the national grid directly. The plant is expected to begin generation within 18 months. The price of generation of per unit of power from this power plant is estimated at 15 cents, which will be bought by the Power Development Board (PDB).   Beximco and Chinese firm TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis will be jointly investing in this project, where the share of Beximco will 80 percent and rest 20 percent will be of TBEA. The two partner company has formed a new company named Teesta solar limited which will materialize the project. In fact, PDB has already signed purchase and implementation deal with Teesta.
