BIFPCL Distributed Education Kits

Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (BIFPCL) has distributed school bags, water bottles and umbrella among the students and teachers of Rampal upazila of Bagerhat. As a part of community development activities around the Maitree Super Thermal Power project the company distributed those items among the 800 students and teachers of four schools of Rajnagar and Hurka Union of Rampal. The distribution ceremony took place in a function organized by BIFPCL at the Rajnagar union parishad premises today morning on 8 August, 2018.

Newly elected Khulna City Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq distributed the items among the students and teachers as chief guest while Mrs. Habibun Nahar, MP, Bagerhat-3 was present as special guest at the function.

Presided over by the Project Director, Maitree Super Thermal Power Project Mr. S.C. Pandey among others Deputy Project Director Mr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Chief Human Resource Officer, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Manager, PR, Anwarul Azim of BIFPCL, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Tushar Kumar Paul and General Secretary, Khulna Press Club, Mr. Mallick Shudhangshu were present on the occasion. Later, the KCC Mayor and local MP visited the project area along with the project officials.

It may be mentioned that BIFPCL since its inception besides project activities, has been implementing various community development activities around the project site in Rampal. Free health services among the local people, skill development training like computer and sewing for local youths to make them efficient human resources and facilitation to educational process like organizing drawing and essay competition as observance of national days, prize giving away to meritorious students of SSC and HSC examinations and cultural programmes on the occasion of Pahela Boishakh etc. for the local community are such initiatives of the company.

Chief Guest Talukder Abdul Khaleq in his speech said that Miatree Thermal Power Project of BIFPCL is being implemented for the betterment of the south, south-western region of the country. Various CSR and community development activities undertaken by the company will improve socio-economic conditions and uplift the standard of living of the local people significantly.
