1b Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Istiaque Ahmad has been appointed as chairman of Petrobangla. Istiaq Ahmed, additional secretary of the cabinet division, was made the new chairman of Petrobangla on Wednesday. Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard. The post of state-owned organisation fell vacant when previous chairman Hussain Monsur’s tenure ended on October18.

rescueriners Most of 24 trapped Nicaraguan gold miners have been freed after a mine collapse. Officials said, the BBC report says on Saturday. The miners were slightly dehydrated but otherwise in good health said Deputy Interior Minister Carlos Najjar. It is not known if the remaining miners have been located yet.
