Fuel loading began right on schedule on February 19 at the unit- 2 of Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant II in Russia. TVEL, Fuel Company of Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation has started testing accident-tolerant fuel (ATF) for nuclear reactors. Accident-tolerant fuel is resistant to severe accidents at nuclear power plants. Bangladesh signed a ‘nuclear fuel support contract deal’ with Russia to ensure fuel supply for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP).
