The Government of the Republic of Armenia and Government of the Russian Federation signed the Intergovernmental Agreement on exchange of information related to nuclear and radiation safety on October 7, 2015. The risk of a “serious cyber attack” on nuclear power plants around the world is growing, warns a report. The civil nuclear infrastructure in most nations is not well prepared to defend against such attacks, it added. The Russians have completed the feasibility study and prepared the design for construction of the Rooppur 2400 megawatt nuclear power plant. The study submitted in June found Rooppur to be a suitable site for such a large nuclear power plant.
