Russian Govt. has allocated a fund US$ 2.4 billion to state energy corporation – ROSATOM, as ‘in-kind’ contributions for the growth of nuclear industry. Out of the amount US$ 680 Million will be used as subsidy for constructing nuclear power plants abroad. Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev issued a directive in this regard recently. Russia built first power unit of the Kudankulam NPP in Tamil Nadu of India has successfully reached 50pc of its installed production capacity recently. On Monday (25 November, 2013) Russia’s State Corporation- Rosatom and the Ministry of Energy of the RSA initialled the agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation in the field of nuclear power engineering and industry.
