Coal mining is reinitiated from the Barapukuria coal mine. The mine is now producing around 2 thousand metric tons of coal daily on an average.
Barapukuria coal mining authorities informed that, the mine resumes it production on 8th September after a three-month halt. Initially, the miners started experimental mining and after 2 days of experimental mining, they began the regular mining operation. After 15 days of operation, the mining process will be postponed for 3 days, informed the authorities.
The diameter of the mine cave numbered 1314 will be broadened soon and thus it will produce up to 2,500 to 3,000 metric tons of coal per day.
The cave 1314 is situated 460 meters below the surface where, earth pressure, humidity, temperature are all high. Considering this unwelcoming environment, the mining operation is conducting with high caution.
