A mobile court has disconnected electricity connections of the Chittagong city dwellers and filed cases against some for having either due bills or illegal connections.
The mobile court filed 8 cases and disconnected a total of 12 electricity connections of the Rampur area of the port city on Sunday. The mobile court also fined tk 1lac and18 thousands to different illegal entities.
The mobile court was headed by Irin Parvin, the senior judicial magistrate of the power court (south) of the Power Development Board (PDB), Chittagong. The mobile court conducted drives in the service and distribution areas of Rampur of the PDB, Chittagong.
A team of the Rampur sells and distribution wing of the PDB headed by the Executive engineer Md. Abdul Kader Gani was present during the drive. Assistant engineer Md. Habibul Bahar, Md. Rahim Ullah, Md. Abdul Malek, Sub-assistant engineer Md. Mostaq Ahmed, Pradip Kumar Mahato were among the team members.
The mobile court filed cases against different individual customers of the PDB living in different areas including Golam Sarwar, Golam Kibria of Daiapara, Mrs Al Amin traders of Uttara residential, Kamrunnahar Koli, Md. Saifuddin, Md. Didar of Uttar Muhuripara, Mrs Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Ltd, Rubel Complex, Anwara Begum of Khajaa hotel, Abdul Ohab of Mollapara area for a total due bill of 24 lacs 75 thousands and 477 taka. The court also disconnected the electricity connections of all these condemned individuals.
