State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has received the “Commitment to the Number of the Civil Merit Order”, the highest civil honor of the Kingdom of Spain.
Spain’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Alvaro de Salas, on Saturday handed over the award to the state minister in the Spanish Embassy at Dhaka.
A press release from the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) informed about it on Sunday.
Spanish Monarch Felipe VI gave the award to Nasrul Hamid for his significant contributions in developing the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Spain.
At the award handover ceremony, the Spanish ambassador said that, through this, the relation between the two friendly countries will become stronger in the future and Spain feels proud to adorn the state minister with the honor.
Nasrul Hamid said that, Bangladesh and Spain hold the same views on issues like migration, refugee crisis, militancy, establishing world peace and global warming. He added that, both the Spanish public and private sector has much more scope of working in the energy and power industry of Bangladesh. He also thanked the Spanish people and the Spanish King for their unceasing support to Bangladesh in the UN on different issues.
