The Northern Electricity Supply Company (Nesco) has proposed the power price hike in the subscriber level at 1.3 taka per unit.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) opined for the price hike of electricity at 0.89 taka per unit.
Nesco managing director Jakiul Islam placed his proposal at the public hearing of BERC on Wednesday.
On February 20, the Power Development Board (PDB) sent a proposal to BERC, asking to hike the retail price of electricity by Tk. 0.72 per unit
The BERC held public hearing over the proposed price hike of electricity. The hearing was held at the TCB Bhaban in the city’s Karwan Bazar area.
BERC chairman Mizanur Rahman, secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman and others took part in the public hearing.
