Dhaka, March 08, 2014: A weeklong Photo Exhibition titled “Energy of the Future Generation” kicks off today at the Nuclear Energy Information Centre of Novo Theater in the city. The exhibition is jointly organised by Bangabandhu Novo Theater and Rosatom, Russia’s state nuclear energy corporation.
Yeafesh Osman, State Minister for Science and Technology formally inaugurated the exhibition at a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Novo theatre. Abul Kalam Azad, Secretary to the Prime Minister, Alexander Nikolaev, Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Arshad Hossain, Director General of the Bangabandhu Novo Theater spoke on the occasion among others.
In his welcome speech Director General of Novo Theater said, “Nuclear energy is a new topic for our country. The exhibition will provide an opportunity for our people, especially the young generation to have a visual idea about nuclear energy and it’s use.”
More than 60 photos on peaceful and versatile use of nuclear energy, nuclear plant construction and operation, their positive impact on surrounding environment, people working in nuclear power generation, versatile use of nuclear energy, extraction and processing of nuclear fuel, Russia-Bangladesh co-operation in construction of Rooppur NPP and others are displayed in the exhibition.
The photo exhibition will remain open for all from March 8-14 between 10am to 5pm every day.
