Procession in Phulbari Demand for Coalmine

People of Phulbari Demanded Coal Extraction for Employment in an open meeting and Procession held toady Organized by Phulbari Dwellers. Speakers of the gathering said, Government should come forward to extraction coal from the area for the sake of regional development. Meeting was held on `Phulbari Coal Resource and Our Development Thoughts’ at the Dak Bangla premise, Dhaka Morh with the chair of freedom fighter Mr. Anwarul Islam. There was presence businessmen, community leaders, and elected representatives.
Anwarul Islam said, while the country is moving towards development, the people of Phulbari are being deprived of development. The fate of the people could have changed if the Phulbari coal mine were implemented. There could have been opportunity for employment of thousands of jobless young. Coal is a blessing from the Almighty Allah for the people of Phulbari. If we want to give a better life to our future generation, job and businesses for our jobless young, we must raise our voice right now and demand to the Government to implement Phulbari coal mine.
Md. Kamruzzaman Tuhin, Ex-councilor, Phulbari Pourosava said, we want mine development but we must not be deprived from our rights. Our people must be provided with job, businesses on priority basis.
Student and community leaders Mr. Mijanur Rahman Mijan, Mosheur Rahman, Sekander Ali Jinnah spoke on the occasion among others. After the meeting a procession was brought out demanding implementation of Phulbari coal mine.
