The Nuclear Power Plant Project of Rooppur has got the highest budget allocation of 100 thousand and 136 crore taka as a development project of the government in the proposed budget for the fiscal year of 2017-18.
According to the proposed budget, 10 mega top-priority projects of the government has got a total allocation of 32 thousand and 531 crore taka which is 21.21 percent of the total Annual Development Programme (ADP).
Finance Minister AMA Muhit on Thursday has proposed the 46th national budget at the Jatiya Sangsad for the fiscal year of 2017-18. He proposed the biggest-ever national budget for the fiscal year 2017-18 of Tk 4,00,266 crore (4002.66 billion or 4 trillion).
The project of Padma multipurpose rail connection has destined to the second biggest allocation of 7 thousand and 610 crore taka in the proposed budget.
The third biggest allocation goes to the ‘Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project’ which is considered to be one of the most challenging job for the government and the project got ab allocation of 5 thousand and 524 crore taka.
The Metrorail project of Dhaka city got 3,425 crore taka, Matarbari (2*600) MW ultra-super critical cold fire power project has got 2,220 crore taka proposed allocation in the budget for FY 2017-18.
Underwater multi-lane road tunnel under the Karnaphali river project received an allocation of BDT 1,574 crore.
Railway construction project from Dohajari to Ghumghum got BDT 1,561 crore, Payra deep-sea port received BDT 400 crore, and gas transmission line construction project from Maheshkhali to Anwara got BDT 80 crore as an allocation in this budget.
Despite being in the mega top-priority project list, the Infrastructure Development project of the Ramapl power plant project has got an allocation of just BDT 1 crore.
