Security has been fortified in the wake of militant activities in the country, to ensure the safety of emergency and vital infrastructures of the country’s energy and power sector, said the state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid.
The state minister informed about the security beef-up of the country in the inauguration program of the Youth Festival-2017, organized by Haji Abul Hossain Institute of Technology (HABHIT) in Tangail on Saturday.
Haji Abul Hossain Trust has backed the youth festival, where local MP Md. Sanowar Hossain presided over the program and Tangail District Council Chairman Fazlur Rahman Khan was the chief guest at the program. Among others, MP Nurunnabi Chowdhury, MP Nahim Razzak, Tangail Deputy Commissioner Md. Mahbub Hossain, ASP of Tangail Aslam khan were present at the occasion.
The state minister said, “Gas is a valuable asset of the country and we shouldn’t misuse it”. People should move on to Liquefied Petroleum gas (LPG). Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BREC) is responsible for adjusting the price of natural gas and electricity and the price is adjusted depending on BREC’s proposal, said the state minister regarding the recent price hike of gas.
