The Country Needs More Engineers

The country requires more professional workforce to reach its goal and the workforce must show more professionalism at their respective jobs, said the state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid. He also added that, the country would require at least two thousands of more engineers in the near future to meet the demands of the upcoming projects of the power and energy sector.

The state minister said so in a workshop on the topic of ‘Bangladesh’s competency in power and energy sector’ which was organized on Thursday at the city’s Sonargaon Hotel. Among others Dr. Gawher Rizvi, the International Affairs adviser to the prime minister, Dr. Ahmad Kaykaus, the power division secretary, Nazimuddin Chaudhury, the mineral resources division secretary, Mohammad Hossain, the director general of Powercell, Julia Niblet, the Australian high commissioner to the Bangladesh, Prof Kamrul Alam from Monas University, Prof Feroz Alam from RMIT University were present at the workshop.

Australian government funded a training program for a number of 60 personnel of the country’s power and energy sector. The training programs were held at the campuses of Monas University and RMIT University.

The state minister said that, we must prepare ourselves from now on to meet the desired future. Julia Niblet said that, such assistance from the Australian government would prevail in the upcoming times.
