The price of electricity is being adjusted again. Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) is going to make public announcement for this.The public hearing will begin on September 25 in the BERC office.BERC member Mohammad Aziz Khan confirmed the matter.He told Energy Bengal, The hearing for the companies to increase the price of electricity. After hearing, the BERC will take a decision to fix the new price of electricity.
In February, the Power Development Board (BPDB) proposed to increase the cost of electricity by 72 paisa (14.78 percent) per kilowatt-hour.In March and April, 6 distribution companies offered a price increase of six to 14.5 percent.On the 25th and the 26th of September, there will be a hearing on the wholesale and general consumer level prices of BPDB.
Bangladesh Rural Electricity Board (BRDE) hearing on 27th September.REB Proposed to increase 10.75 percent of the price.Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) hearing on 28 September.DPDC has proposed to increase the 6.74 percent. DESCO hearing on 2nd October. Their proposal to raise prices of 6.34 percent. The West Zone Power Distribution Company will hear the case on Oct. 3.Their proposal to raise prices of 10.36 percent.The Northwest Power Distribution Company has proposed to raise prices of Tk 1.15 per unit per unit.Their hearing on October 4th.
