Titas Cuts over 7k illegal Gas Connections in July

Titas, the state-owned gas Distribution Company has cut a total of 7,245 illegal gas connections in the households and eliminated 18.19 kilometers of illegal gas pipeline in this July. It has also disconnected gas connections of 2,232 legal household stoves, 6 commercial units, 4 CNG stations, 3 captive power plants for their due bills.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited has declared its stance against illegal gas connections for one more time in a press release. A mobile court headed by an executive Magistrate has been conducting the drives against the illegal connection of gas for the last couple of years. In last July of this year, 13 individual drives were conducted to detect and eliminate those illegal gas connections, claimed the sources from Titas.

The mobile courts that conducted drive on 12th and 20th of July, terminated a total of 17,389 feet illegal connections throughout the Gazipur area. Another 2 drives conducted on 6th and 31st July have terminated a total of 15,092 feet of gas pipelines at Sripur, Jangalia Para, Itahata Para. Amirabadchala of Gazipur area. The drives conducted on 15th and 19th July have disconnected 10,843 feet gas lines in Chandra of Gazipur area. Besides, different drives conducted on 16th and 23rd July, 17th July, 19th and 27th July, 31st July, 18th July have terminated 860 feet, 17,764 feet, 280 feet, 426 feet,50 feet illegal gas pipelines respectively at different areas of Savar, Tongi, Narsingdi, Khilgaon areas. Accounting all these measures, Titas altogether disconnected a total of 69,704 feet of illegal gas pipelines and terminated gas connections of 7,245 illegal gas stoves.
