Titas gas, in a recent drive against illegal gas connections, has wiped out a total of 19.3 km unlawful gas pipelines and it also disconnected 9,530 illegal gas stove connections in this September.
Titas claimed that, it has been conducting special drives to detect and eliminate artifice in gas utilization and unlawful gas. A mobile court headed by an executive magistrate conducts such drives to detect and terminate the illegal connections of Titas gas. The special drive conducted by an executive magistrate has also disconnected 3 commercial gas connections in the last month.
On September 13th, the gas connections of M/s Dipa Sweet and M/s Islamia confectionery of Rupganj, Narayanganj area were permanently disconnected. Besides, two cases were filed separately in Rupganj Police Station. On September 21st, the gas connection of M/s Dove Coil Factory in the Khilakur area of Gazipur was also permanently terminated and the factory proprietor was fined Tk 70,000.
On the last 13th and 18th of September, the mobile court has wiped out illegal pipelines of Konabari having a length of 30, 514 feet. In 14th, 21st and 28th September, the drive also wiped out 16 thousand 405 feet of illegal lines having 1 inches and 2 inches diameter from Gazipur, Hankata Road, Hirdal, Board Market Khailekair Khalil Market Area and Sreepur Textile Lane, CNP No. 2 Chanpara (Girerchala) area of Sripur.
A divisional team of the company on September 21st has also removed a total of 16 thousand 405 feet of illegal gas lines having a diameter of 3/4 Inch, 1-inch, 1.5-inch and two inches from Ashulia area of Savar. In the last September alone, Titas has managed to eliminate illegal gas connections having a total o length of 63 thousand 324 feet which have allowed it to literally disconnect a total number of 9,530 gas stove connections. The drives also fined 25 subscribers of Titas accounting a total amount of 1 lac and 20 thousand taka in the last month.
