Adani Power Increases Electricity Supply Ahead of Elections

Both Units Now Operational

Adani Power has increased electricity supply ahead of the national parliamentary elections. Both units of the 1,600 MW plant have been operational since Sunday, February 8.

one of Adani’s units had been taken offline for scheduled maintenance on January 15 for a 25-day maintenance period, with prior notice given to the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). The unit was originally scheduled to restart on Monday, February 9. However, considering the need for uninterrupted electricity during the election period, the 800-megawatt unit was brought under operation a day earlier. With both units running, Adani’s combined 1,600-megawatt capacity is now supplying nearly 1,400 megawatts to the national grid.

It is worth noting that The second 800 MW unit continued to supply electricity without interruption while the first unit underwent maintenance.
