Most of the withdrawal staffs are Spanish. Some are Bulgarian and Argentinian.
According to highly placed sources, the Spanish Embassy in Dhaka first sent letters to the Power Ministry recently regarding its decision to pull out its nationals working at different power plant projects. Simultaneously, the Spanish Embassy asked the Spanish company to follow its instruction to withdraw the foreign staff from the power projects until further order. Admitting the Spanish Embassy’s instruction and pullout of its foreign staff by Isolux
Energy power and mineral resource minister Nasrul Hamid addressing this as a tragic for power plants. He said to Energy bangla, 43 foreigners of three power plants left the country. It is tragic news. They left Bangladesh despite all security was being ensured. Presently country is not at that state. Moreover, power plant area is more secured.
Mr. Hamid added, other foreigner stays in the country. They are working normally.
Now, without the Foreigners, EGCB continues their construction process. North West power starts electricity generation.
