MOU Signed Between EPRC And ESAB : To Connecting Young Talents

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signed between Bangladesh Energy & Power

Research Council (EPRC) and Engineering Students’ Association of Bangladesh (ESAB).
To develop the capacity of young engineers of Bangladesh and to engage them in research and

innovation on power & energy EPRC has signed the MoU. To operate and execute

few joint initiatives this MoU took place. These initiatives has been connecting the young

talents in national programs like ‘National Hackathon on power and energy’, ‘Green Energy

Summit’, ‘Youth Innovation Small Grant’ & hence young talents get opportunity to contribute

in national development initiatives. Today the MoU has been signed at Bidyut Bhaban.

ESAB has been working for the past 5 years to increase the innovation skill of the engineering students & solve the social problems of our

country. These young students, specially the engineering students are trying to solve the social

problems through their merit and knowledge. These initiatives can play an important role in

public service and national issues. But due to the lack of inspiration, funding & specialist’s

advice, these projects often ends abruptly.

EPRC is also working to solve the problems of power and energy sector and to face the challenges of future world since its inception. Due to lack of

skilled human resources, brain-drain or lack of international standard researches these

initiatives get hampered. Also there is a limited scope to connect the young potentials. This MoU will solve these problems.

Through this MoU, common goals of both EPRC & ESAB will be achieved & the engineering students will play a vital role in public service and

national development issues. Beside, EPRC & ESAB will help each other in different programs

that will inspire engineering students in public service innovation and will also enhance

expertise in human resource. ESAB members will get internship opportunity at EPRC program

through this MoU. Thus the talented young minds will get the opportunity to work with

different activities of EPRC will make an impact in power and energy sector of Bangladesh.

Both organization will work to arrange seminar, workshops, trainings, summit, and outreach

programs to achieve the goals of this MoU. Also small grant program, contests, incubation

program will create and ecosystem of innovation at Bangladesh.

In this MoU signing program, the chief guest Nasrul Hamid, State Minister of

Ministry of Power, Eneryg & Mineral Resource, said, In every step of the history

of Bangladesh, students’ community has played an important role. To take this country one

step ahead, not only the government but also the new generation has to take part. This MoU

will create that opportunity & both the country and its people will be benefited. This will also

help us to go further to enlighten Bangladesh.

The EPRC Chairman as special guest, Md. Ahmad Kaikaus said, If the young engineers

come forward to solve the social problems, we will try our best to support them. Through this

MoU young talents will get chance to work with government and government will also get

chance to collaborate with youth.

The president of ESAB Mohammad Imtiaz Hasan said, We always try from ESAB to involve the

talented students to solve the social issues of our country. This MoU will inspire those students

to work for their country.

A small token of appreciation was presented to the newly appointed EPRC Chairman Dr. Ahmad

Kaikaus. After that closing speech was given by the Founder of ESAB the Executive Director of

ESAB Innovation Center Md. Arif Raihan Maahi said, ESAB was formed to unite the young

engineers for the development of our country. We are doing everything focusing that goal. Lots

of initiatives has been taken with this collaboration of BEPRC. This MoU will accelerate the

initiatives and young engineers will get opportunity to contribute in power & energy sector of

Bangladesh.
