BPI Signs MoUs with Five Institutions to Enhance Energy Research and Capacity

The Bangladesh Petroleum Institute (BPI) has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with five institutions to promote cooperation in research, education, training, and technological development in the country’s energy and mineral resources sector. The agreements, titled “Support for Energy Research and Capacity Development,” were signed on Saturday at the BPI headquarters in Dhaka.

Energy and Mineral Resources Division Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) Chairman Md. Amin Ul Ahsan was present as the special guest. BPI Director General Khanchan presided over the event and signed the MoUs on behalf of the institute.

The signatories on behalf of their respective institutions were: Professor Dr. Yunus Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Department of Geology and Mining, Rajshahi University; Md. Shamsul Haque, Chief Executive Officer of Coders Trust Limited; Abul Fateh Md. Baligud Rahman, Member of BCSIR; Dr. Muhammad Mahbubur Rahman, Professor and Head of the PMRE Department at BUET; and Md. Amzad Hossain, Secretary of Petrobangla.

According to stakeholders, this collaboration among academic institutions, research organizations, and industrial entities will have a long-term positive impact on the exploration, extraction, and development of skilled human resources in Bangladesh’s hydrocarbon and mineral resource sectors.
