The Power Division has launched a special control room to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers amid the ongoing flood situation across the country.
Officials assigned to the control room have been instructed to immediately coordinate with the relevant power distribution utilities or companies whenever any disruption in electricity supply is reported and to ensure prompt resolution of the issue. They have also been directed to maintain close coordination with the Power Division’s integrated hotline, 16999.
The information was disclosed in an office order issued on Monday by the Coordination-2 Branch of the Power Division.
A total of 19 officials and employees of the Power Division have been assigned to operate the control room until July 31.
According to the office order, the control room, located on the 14th floor of Bidyut Bhaban in the capital, will remain operational every day, including government holidays, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. If necessary, communication will continue beyond the scheduled hours through mobile phone.
