Fuel prices have been reduced at the start of the new year. The price of diesel has been fixed at Tk 102 per litre, kerosene at Tk 114, octane at Tk 122, and petrol at Tk 118, following a reduction of Tk 2 per litre for each fuel.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Wednesday. The new prices came into effect from 1 January.
Last month, fuel prices were increased by Tk 2 per litre. Fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis in line with the international market. Over the past few months, fuel prices in the international market have not increased.
