The interim government has reduced the prices of four types of fuel oil by Tk 1 per litre.
The new rates will take effect from May 1, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Wednesday.
It said the price of diesel and kerosene has been reduced from Tk 105 to Tk 104 per litre.
Petrol will now cost Tk 121 instead of Tk 122 while octane has been adjusted to Tk 125 per litre from the previous Tk 126.
The price adjustment is part of the government’s automated fuel pricing mechanism, which has been in place since March 2024 to align domestic rates with fluctuations in the international market.
