Monthly fuel import is down on a p2p basis. Crude Oil import in March 2015/16, for example, has fallen by 59 percent from the March 2014/15. Petroleum export rose on a p2p basis for February (9 percent), but experienced a large declines in the other 2 months (55 percent and 36 percent).

Gas production has been stable for the three months, with minor changes on a monthly basis. Coal production has risen every month, from 76,812 million tons on February, to 104,993 million tons by April.

Gas, as a percentage of fuel mix installed capacity, did not change between March 2016 and June 2016, as well as HFO. BPDB’s share in the total production has decreased by 2 percentages.

Number of plants in operation has experienced a slight increase from a year ago and the peak demand has also increased. Peak generation has increased as well to keep up with the rise in peak demand. Total generation too has experienced significant increase (for example, 40 percent rise in March 2016, from a year ago). However, there have been load-shedding during the concerned period.
