Staff Correspondent, Dhaka (Thursday, July 2, 2026)

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and autogas.

Under the new pricing decision, the retail price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been reduced by Tk 357 to Tk 1,528. At the same time, the price of autogas has been cut by Tk 16.53 per litre to Tk 70.40.

BERC announced the revised prices on Thursday.

The new rates have been adjusted in line with international market prices based on Saudi Aramco’s Contract Price (CP) for July. The CP for propane has been set at US$580 per metric tonne, while butane has been fixed at US$600 per metric tonne. Based on the 35:65 propane-butane mix, the weighted average CP stands at US$593 per metric tonne. In determining the new prices, BERC also considered shipping costs and traders’ premiums of US$180 per metric tonne for LPG imports, along with an average exchange rate of Tk 123.08 per US dollar.

Under the revised pricing, the maximum retail price of bottled LPG has been fixed at Tk 127.30 per kilogram. Accordingly, the prices of LPG cylinders have been set at Tk 1,591 for 12.5kg, Tk 1,910 for 15kg, Tk 2,037 for 16kg, Tk 2,291 for 18kg, Tk 2,546 for 20kg, Tk 2,801 for 22kg, Tk 3,183 for 25kg, Tk 3,819 for 30kg, Tk 4,201 for 33kg, Tk 4,456 for 35kg, and Tk 5,729 for 45kg cylinders.

The price of privately supplied LPG in bulk liquid form has been fixed at Tk 123.55 per kilogram, while LPG supplied in gaseous form has been set at Tk 274.50 per cubic metre.

The price of government-supplied LPG remains unchanged, with the 12.5kg cylinder continuing to sell at Tk 776.93.

Previously, on June 2, BERC reduced the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder from Tk 1,940 to Tk 1,885. At the same time, the price of autogas was lowered from Tk 89.50 per litre to Tk 86.93 per litre.
