Malaysia will keep up its support and assistance on demand in
Bangladesh’s power sector, said the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib
Rajak. The prime minister expressed his willingness and readiness for
any kind of assistance while the Bangladesh’s State Minister for Power
Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid paid a courtesy visit to
the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office at Putrajaya.
The PM said that, his country would be looking forward to
strengthening the brotherly relation with Bangladesh. A press release
from Bangladesh’s Power Division on Wednesday confirmed this remark.
The state minister thanked the Malaysian government for the country’s
continuous support in Bangladesh’s development. He further requested
the PM for outsourcing more manpower from Bangladesh in the times to
come yet.
Nasrul Hamid said the Prime Minister that, Malaysia has already
invested around 11b Ringit. The state minister then invited the
Malaysian govt. to invest more as the opportunity for the foreign
investors has escalated. He also requested to import more vegetables,
fishes, medicines and other things from Bangladesh.
Power Development Board (PDB) chairman Shamsul Hasan Mia, Power
secretary Monwar Islam and Bangladesh’s ambassador to Malaysia Md
Shahidul Islam were also present at that meeting.
