A control room is going to be created to monitor the load shedding and generation. A consumer can be informed directly about his local power distribution situation from the control room.
Replying of a question Power Secretary Monowar Islam said, “The consumer is suffering for load shedding crisis for the limitation of shabby distribution system. We have adequate power generation”. Mr. Islam added, to monitor the distribution system for 24 hours we will create a control room. The control room will find out the problems and will solve the difficulty.
There is a dilemma has been created between Power Division and the ministry. The ministry says that there is no load shedding in the county but the consumers across the country facing heavy load shedding. The power distribution companies submitted the report where they showed “zero load shedding”. In these circumstances, the Power Division has taken the decision.
According to the Power Ministry, Power generation capacity has been increased by 88 per cent. But transmission capacity has been increased by only 17 per cent and distribution capacity 11 per cent.
Hence, power generation is being increasing rapidly and the distribution companies are also providing power to the consumer randomly to achieve the goal “power for all by 2020” , transformers going to be over loaded fast. Nowadays, 18 per cent transformers are over loaded, informed power division official.
As per Rural electrification Board (REB), about 3 lakh consumer has been provided new connection on October. And a target has been set for 2015-16 to provide 1.32 crore new connection.
