One more step towards the Industry 4.0: ZYFRA Group Becomes a Member of the Industrial Internet Consortium

Nuclear Asia

Finland-based ZYFRA Group became a member of The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC™), now incorporating OpenFog, the world’s leading organization transforming business and society by accelerating the adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Zyfra focuses on the introduction of IIoT technologies, that is, connecting to the internet machines, industrial robots and units to create a single information space at the enterprise. Company’s park of “connected” equipment is more than 8,000 machines. The company works with more than 250 enterprises around the globe.

”We developed an IIoT solution – MDCPlus, a monitoring system for equipment and personnel for the European and Asian markets. MDCplus system works with hundreds of customizable reports and charts that can be used to track jobs, operations, work part procedures, personnel activities; to evaluate the overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and production costs, to record scrap, to determine downtime and reasons for downtime. In Europe, this system is already being implemented at enterprises in Helsinki, in Asia – India and China. In Company’s plans for this year is to begin to predict possible equipment breakdowns and tool wear,” said Pavel Rastopshin, Managing Director at Zyfra Group.

“We are delighted to have Zyfra as a member of the IIC to share its industry knowledge and expertise about AI and industrial technologies with other members,” said Dr. Richard Soley, Executive Director, IIC.

The application of IIoT and AI in manufacturing are projected to generate from $45 bln of value globally by 2022, in four primary forms: operational efficiency, predictive and preventative maintenance, supply chain management, and inventories and logistics. Analysts anticipate the application of IIoT to maximize factory floor efficiency will have the largest impact among the four IIoT application forms, increasing productivity by as much as 25 percent. “Smart factories” are promising to generate up to $3,7 trillion in the same period. Evolutionary development of industry from mechanization to industrialization, and then from automation to Industry 4.0 is characterized by the massive use of various sensors for the collection and exchange of information integrated with intelligent systems.

The IIoT is a computer network consisting of elements of industrial equipment, scientific tools, equipped with technologies of interaction with each other and the external environment. The goal of the IoT is to change the technological and business processes in such a way as to increase their efficiency and significantly reduce the need for human participation in making routine decisions related to the management of objects in such networks. In a general sense, IIoT can be equated to fully automate digital production.

ZYFRA Group was founded in November 2017 and currently operates in Finland, China, Russia, Bulgaria, and India, and its platform connected over 8,000 CNC machines across the countries. By the end of 2018 more than 270 production facilities are equipped with its products.
