Political understanding is needed to import electricity from Bhutan. Zonal fuel help can be start after having political agreement. Prim
ministers of Bangladesh, Bhutan and India are interested on this issue. the three country will discuss on that in next January.
Economic Affairs minister of Bhutan Lyonpo Norbu Wangchuk and State minister Power Energy and mineral Resource Nasrul Hamid inform this while they inspecting Bangladesh-India 400 KV sub-power plant on Friday.
Finance minister of Bhutan said, there are possibilities on hydro electricity in Bhutan. this kind of plants are cost efficient and
environment friendly. India is very much eager to supply hydro electricity in Bangladesh. Three prime ministers are also sincere do
do this.
Power energy and mineral resource state minister of Bangladesh Nasrul Hamid said, We need to improve bilateral cooperation. Now Bangladesh is capable to invest in abroad. we may invest in Bhutan for power plant or import electricity from Bhutan.
