Finally, three foreign company shows their interest to invest in Rampal power plant by submitting their tender to construct Rampal power plant.
Tuesday, in Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL) office, the tender were submitted by those companies. Two consortium of companies and one company individually submit their tender. Marubeni Corporation from Japan and Larsen and turbo limited from India jointly submit the tender. Another consortium is Harbin Electric International Company Ltd., ETERN and fob laser ALSTOM from china. Beside this Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited from India (veel) individually submit tender. Three companies submit proposal though six were brought Rampal tender documents.
Managing Director of BIFPCL U K Bhattacharjee said to energy bangla, “this is a good news for Rampal power plant. Hope, Rampal plant will come in action at certain time. Foreign companies are coming into Bangladesh to invest in Rampal. The agreement will be finalized within next January.”
Bhattacharjee added, “Renowned global companies submitted the proposal. They won’t do anything by harming environment. We will give this project after reviewing technical issues and bid price.”
BIFPCL officials said, investment was ensured by the tenders. The companies confirmed investment after discussing the issue with their local banks. So, investment and construction of Rampal power plant project is one step ahead.
Source informs, first BIFPCL will evaluate the technical issue. If BIFPCL satisfied with the technical issue, it will go for the price. After evaluating the technical and bid price issue BIFPCL will select a company. For evaluation process, BIFPCL formed a committee consists 8 members.
Earlier, six international bidders bought Rampal tender documents. The companies are Marubeni Corporation from Japan, Veel from India, Harbin from and Cinomac from china, Daewoo international and Doosan heavy industries from Korea.
On February 15, BIFPCL invited bids to set up Rampal power plant. The first deadline was May 18, later it was extended to July 18 and on September 22. The BIPCL authority informs the deadline was extended by request of the bidders.
