Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) has 1cr 29lakh and 678
customer. They will provide 30lakh new connection in this fiscal year.
Already, REB provided 3lakh new connection for irrigation.
Chairman of REB B.G. Moin Uddin said, we are working to bring all
under power supply by 2021. We hope it will be done within 2018. In an
average 1lakh new connection has been provided in last few months.
REB initiated to improve services system. For this, REB will build up
1 lack 30 thousand kilometer new distribution line, 1 thousand 107
sub-station,   25 thousand new distribution lines in every year,
install 54lack pre-paid meters and also condense the system loss in
one digit within 2021.
They also approved 200unit free electricity for 3 thousand martyr and
injured freedom fighter, remission of 100unit for 15ooo religious
institution.
Under shelter project, REB is Placing 15,250 solar home systems, 40
solar pumps for irrigation and 30 kilowatt solar panel in each Sadar
of 15 Upajela.
