Rural electrification board of Bangladesh (REB) permit 3 lack and 30 thousand new connection in this august. At present they have 1cr and 26 lack customer.
REB source informs, in June they approve 3 lack 42 thousand and 739 new connection; in May it was almost 3 lack. 13 lack and 50 thousand new connection was accepted in last six months. At the same time 83 thousand km electricity line was constructed till June.
Chairman of REB B.G. Moin Uddin said, we work to bring the whole population under power supply by 2018. For this purpose we hurriedly approves new connections.
REB informs, REB has taken up a number of activities to improve client facility. For this REB will construct 1 lack 30 thousand new electric line, 1 thousand 107 sub-station and take 5 new projects within 2021. Every year REB wants to Construct 25 thousand new electric line, approve 54 lack pre-paid meter and also condense the system loss in one digit.
This year approve 3 lack connection for irrigation. They also approve 2000 unit free electricity for martyr and injured freedom fighter. Beside this remission 1000 unit for 15ooo religious institution, placing 15250 solar home system, 40 solar pump for irrigation and 30 km solar panel in each sadar of 15 upajela.
At present REB have 77 associations and their demand is 4000 MW which is half of country demand.
