The dead line is over. Still Isolux didn’t return to their respective work. It is also uncertain when they will return. Government didn’t fix the penalty yet.
Monday, power energy and mineral resource minister Nasrul Hamid had a meeting with the Director General of the Department of Energy and Renewable of Isolux Corsan Mr. Jose Dago.
Meeting source informs, Isolux left Bangladesh on security pretext. Government is ready to provide the security. It was informed that power plant area will get top priority. Government will meet Isolux’s requirement. security issue was discussed in the meeting. it was requested to return to the work shortly. But Isolux didn’t clear their stand yet.
Ministry of power and energy fixed 5 November as the dead line. They didn’t maintain the deadline. Even they didn’t inform when they will return to the work. Beside, Isolux have to pay the penalty if it can’t complete the project in estimated time. However the fines were not specified.
State minister said, they left Bangladesh despite all security was being ensured. It is tragic. Presently country is not at that state. Moreover, power plant area is more secured. Mr. Hamid added, other foreigner stays in the country. They are working normally. There is no security problem in Bangladesh.
Source informs, according to the agreement Isolux can’t remove their employ from the project. It is against the rule and regulation. It will be likely a breach of contract if they didn’t join into the work quickly. They don’t have to worry about their security.
Earlier, Government had worn Isolux by sending letter. It has been asked in the latter, by which section of the contact they remove their employ
Spanish Company Isolux withdrew 41 employ from three power plants. 38 employee from Siddhirganj 335MW power plant under Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB), 2 from Bibiyana 450MW power plant Unit 1 under Power Development Board (PDB) and 1 from Khulna 150MW power plant under North West Power Generation Company.
