Titas Declares 20 pc Dividends Per Share

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited has declared a
20 percent cash dividends for its shareholders for the fiscal year of
2015-16. The announcement came at the 35th Annual General Meeting
(AGM) of the company held at the capital’s Officers’ Club.

The company has reported that their Earning Per Share (EPS) was BDT
7.37 while the face value of each of the shares was BDT 10. Titas
deposited around 483 crore and 60 lacs BDT in the exchequer in the
last fiscal year.

The company has sold 16,583.33 mmcf gas in the fiscal year of 2015-16
and earned an amount of 11 thousand, 317 crore and 10 lacs Tk, claimed
the AGM report. According to the report, this year’s earnings
increased by 38.68 percent. The company ultimately made a profit of
BDT 970 crore and 2 lacs before paying the taxes and was later
curtailed to BDT 729 crore and 39 lacs after paying the taxes.

Nazimuddin Chaudhury, secretary of the Energy Division and the
Chairman of Titas Board chaired the meeting. Ishtiaq Ahmed, the
company director and Environment Secretary (ex-chairman of
Petrobangla), Eng. Mir Moshiur Rahman, the Managing Director of Titas
along with other board of director’s members and shareholders of the
company attended the meeting.
