Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company limited has disconnected a total of 290 illegal gas connections of 190 different houses of Maona Madhypara area in Sripur Upazila of Gazipur district. A task force of Titas conducted this drive on 15th February to detect and eliminate the illegal gas connections at that area.
Sources from Titas informed that, the mobile court has disconnected a total of 1.8 kilometers of gas pipelines with different diameters including 1 inch, 2 inches. Assistant Commissioner (land) Masum Reza led the mobile court there while some high officials of Titas were also present on the spot.
Titas claims it’s going to take legal actions against the middlemen who are seducing the local inhabitants in taking illegal gas connections. Titas informed that, it is well determined to continue conducting such drives against illegal gas connections with the help of the local administration.
