Kevin Lyon has been appointed the new President of Chevron Bangladesh, with effect from January 1st 2015. Prior to this assignment, he held the post of Netherlands Country Manager for Chevron Upstream Europe.
Lyon joined Chevron as an Electrical Engineer in 1988, after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering that same year from the University of Wyoming in the United States. Aside from multiple locations in the United States, he has held numerous engineering and management positions in Indonesia, Nigeria and Philippines.
Expressing his optimism about his new workplace, the Chevron Bangladesh chief said, “I have come on board at what is an exciting time for Bangladesh and its energy sector. In continuing the collaborative relationship between Chevron and its partners in Government, I look forward to building on the continuity of success we had under my predecessor’s leadership, so we can work even closer together for Bangladesh’s energy security.”
Kevin Lyon has succeeded Geoff Strong, who now assumes the post of Vice-President, Supply & Trading in Chevron’s Gas & Midstream organization, based in Houston, Texas, in the United States.
Chevron, the largest foreign investor and largest gas producer of Bangladesh, is currently producing natural gas from three onshore fields in the north-east of the country.
