Bangladesh’s power plants have set a new record of power generation.The electricity generation on Saturday evening was 9,356 megawatt, which is an all-time high, according to Power Development Board Public Relations Officer Saiful Hasan Chowdhury.
The previous record was of 18 april 9.212 megawatt.
According to the PDB, power generation has doubled in the past seven years since the Awami League government took charge in 2009.
The highest generation in 2008 was 4,036 MW.
