Bibiyana gas field starts gas supply after maintenance. CNG stations opens. This Saturday, Bibiyana gas field stops for 24 hours because of yearly maintenance.
Officials said, at this time industries are closed, demand of electricity is less. So, authority took this Saturday, next day of Eid, for yearly maintenance.
Chevron officials said, “The yearly maintenance of Bibiyana gas field
is over. Gas supply stops on 26 September. Gas demand is low during
Eid. So, we pick this vacation for maintenance.”
According to announcement, CNG filling stations stop gas supply since
first hour of Saturday. Because of this fact, huge line of vehicles
were seen at the CNG stations. Since Friday evening, vehicles came to
take gas for Saturday.
CNG stations are kept closed so that residential customers gets
uninterrupted gas connection.
Bibiyana gas field in Sylhet is one of the biggest local gas field.
Chevron Bangladesh operate this gas field. More than 45 per cent of
the country’s total gas was lifted from this gas field. ‘In Thursday,
last work day before Eid, 44 per cent gas was extracted from this
