Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Istiaque Ahmad has been appointed as chairman of Petrobangla. Istiaq Ahmed, additional secretary of the cabinet division, was made the new chairman of Petrobangla on Wednesday. Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard. The post of state-owned organisation fell vacant when previous chairman Hussain Monsur’s tenure ended on October18.  
Russia’s State Nuclear Energy Corporation – Rosatom with a view to hunt new business has opened a regional center for Western Europe headquartered in Paris. Most of 24 trapped Nicaraguan gold miners have been freed after a mine collapse. Officials said, the BBC report says on Saturday. The miners were slightly dehydrated but otherwise in good health said Deputy Interior Minister Carlos Najjar. It is not known if the remaining miners have been located yet. Several lakh people have been marooned. Flood situation in the country has deteriorated further as fresh areas were engulfed by flood water due to rise of water levels in all major rivers during the past couple of days.
