Bangladesh has signed two separate loan agreements with the Asian Development Bank for tackling river bank erosion and improving farmland and irrigation systems for agriculture. A passenger vessel sank with more than 200 passengers on board on Monday near Munshiganj’s Lauhajong Upazila in river Padma. Two bodies have been recovered so far. Rescuers say that the salvage operation is being disrupted due to strong currents.
