State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Friday said the government is very cautious about the monetary losses and sufferings caused to the local people in Sunamganj’s Tengratila gas field blowout. “The government will undertake all possible measures for protecting lives and properties of the people in the affected area, the state minister said while speaking at a view-exchange with foreign delegates at Tengratila at Doyarabazar in the district. The six-acre gas field suffered the blowouts on January 7 and June 25 in 2005 while Canadian exploration company Niko was drilling a gas well there. The blowouts caused great sufferings to the local people as well as huge financial loss to the country
