The government will conduct an opinion survey on power supply to households in order to ensure its’ position on quality of services on electricity supply.
Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) Chairman Dr Ahmed Kaikaus and Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) Director General Mohammed Abdul Wazed Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organisations to conduct the survey.
Prime Minister’s Power and Energy Adviser Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Power Secretary Monowar Islam, Statistics and informative Management Secretary KM Mozammel Huq, Power Cell Director General Mohammed Hossain and concerned senior officials attended the signing function at Biddyut Bhaban.
As per the MoU, the BBS will conduct the opinion survey in two separate phases, the first phase on June, 2016 and the second phase on January 2017 for 10 days each.
Prime minister’s power and energy adviser at the signing function said the government would get real picture from the survey about the benefit of power subscribers.
