Petrobangla set to sign a new contracts with ONGC 17th feb

Petrobangla would going to sign a contract on 17th February with Indian state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for oil and gas exploration in two shallow sea blocks, the officials said.

The government is scheduled for Monday to sign contracts with the Indian state-run company for oil and gas exploration in shallow sea blocks 4 and 9 under the Model Production Sharing Contract 2012.
In late November 2013, the government had halted the contract signing programmes due to ‘political unrest’,
Petrobangla chairman Hossain Monsur said the government would sign another contract in the next week with ConocoPhillips for oil gas exploration in shallow sea block 7.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Conoco submitted bids for the three blocks after Petrobangla on December 17, 2012 had floated the international tender for oil and gas exploration in nine shallow sea hydrocarbon blocks — 2, 3, 4, and 6-11 — and three deep-sea blocks — 12, 16, and 21 — in the Bay of Bengal.
